I am nearing the end of my first full week of my full teaching schedule. I am teaching 12 middle school grade 1 classes per week in addition to my 8 senior level classes and 5 supervisory classes. Needless to say, I am beat and my voice is shot. Vacation could not come soon enough! On Saturday morning, my roommates and I are taking the school bus to Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius, where we will begin our weeklong trip.
I am so beyond excited to get out of here and go away for awhile (7 blessed days to be exact.) My roommates and I are planning on spending a few days in Qufu and exploring the temples and historic sites of Confucius. Then we are heading to Mount Tai, one of the five sacred Taoist mountains in Shandong. The trek up the mountain consists of 7,000 stairs, but luckily for me, I have to go up and down about twenty flights of stairs a few times a day, so I should be well conditioned for the climb (haha, not.) I’m pretty excited and I definitely want to make the most of this time away since it doesn’t seem we will have many other holidays after this until the end of the term.
I’ll be sure to keep you all posted!
