Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” And it appears that my journey will officially take place on September 1st when I step onto that twelve hour flight to Beijing. I feel incredibly blessed that I am able to spend my first post-grad year living and working abroad as an english teacher at Xiashan Experimental School in Weifang, China. As much as it has filled my conversations for the last 4 months, I can’t believe that it is truly happening and that I am really going to be spending my first year of adult life in China. It is surreal. However, I have the flight itinerary and Chinese visa to prove that it is very much a reality. Well, here is to my last two weeks in America before I embark on the greatest adventure of my life… (at least so far.)
