Last weekend was a whirlwind as I flew into Seattle from China on Thursday. I was immediately swept up in festivities and preparations for Crista and Austin’s wedding. Crista, myself, and the other bridesmaids have all been friends since freshman year of college, and it was amazing to have a chance to stand with her on such a special day. The wedding was a beautiful and simple celebration at Cashmere Riverside Center in Cashmere, Washington and the bride was absolutely stunning.
One of the bridesmaids, Shay, was a friend from university who moved to Texas. We haven’t seen each other in about two and a half years. We decided to take advantage of this rare opportunity, and made a girls weekend out of it by renting a mountainside chalet from AirBnB, and spending a few days after the wedding relaxing and exploring Leavenworth and Lake Chelan.
This was my first AirBnB, and I was incredibly impressed. The rental process was convenient and efficient. Our host had everything we could have possibly needed already set up. There was more than enough room for our whole party, and it was nice to feel like we had a home away from home for the weekend. The little chalet was so cute and charming, and the cost was much cheaper than any hotel would have been at $50 a night per person. This experience definitely made me a convert and I will certainly be using AirBnB again in the future.
Over the final two days of our trip, we decided to relax at Lake Chelan and enjoy the perfect weather. We also decided to try out the different restaurants and cafes in Leavenworth, an adorable Bavarian style town nestled in the Wenatchee Mountains.
Overall, it was an incredible weekend. It further reminded me of how blessed I am to have such an amazing group of friends who will always find a way to share the big moments in one another’s lives, regardless of where life takes us all.
